STRATEGY
Vietnam’s home appliance category is crowded with brands giving the same promise: effortless living through smart technology that eliminates housework. Bosch, while widely respected for its German engineering and reliability, had historically taken a conservative approach to social media in Vietnam. The heritage brand rarely experimented with bold or culturally driven digital campaigns, making it less visible in the fast-moving social conversation around modern home life. But in recent years, Vietnamese social media has been increasingly shaped by playful, highly shareable content formats — from witty wordplay to visually striking digital stunts that blur the line between online and outdoor media. For Bosch to stand out, it needed to break from traditional product advertising and embrace a social-first creative approach that could capture attention in crowded feeds while remaining true to the brand’s premium identity. Our strategy was to transform Bosch’s global #LikeABosch platform into a distinctly Vietnamese cultural expression — using social media humor, linguistic play, and visually striking virtual OOH designed specifically to tap into an underrecognized cultural insight. That is: for Vietnamese homeowners, cooking, cleaning, and caring for family are not chores to avoid, but rather, expressions of pride and precision. Instead of telling audiences what Bosch appliances can do, we decided to spark conversation about how people run their homes with their own standards, positioning Bosch as the brand that makes that level of mastery possible.
INSIGHT
Vietnamese households, especially growing families and the rising middle class, take pride in running their homes well. Cooking, cleaning, and caring for family are everyday rituals where personal standards and attention to detail matter deeply. For many young homeowners, the home is not simply a place to relax, but a place to organize, improve, and perfect. This can be seen in the sharp rise of monthly average search volume for indoor plants and cooking recipes, as well as the popularity of content featuring home projects like gardening, storage organization, and basic home repairs. Yet for Vietnam’s home technology market, conversations about homemaking rarely reflect this pride. Instead, most brands frame housework as something to escape — reinforcing the idea that appliances exist to eliminate effort. At the same time, Vietnamese social media culture thrives on clever wordplay, witty commentary, and visually striking posts that audiences love to share and reinterpret. We realized Bosch’s name itself held a powerful creative opportunity. To Vietnamese ears, “Bosch” sounds remarkably close to “boss.” This linguistic coincidence opened the door to a social-first narrative that felt playful, culturally relevant, and instantly understandable. If Bosch sounds like “boss,” then the message becomes clear: When you use Bosch, you’re the boss of your home. This insight allowed the campaign to transform everyday homemaking into something aspirational and shareable — a celebration of pride and personal authority.
CREATIVE IDEA
Inspired by the key insight and built on this innovative approach, we launched Rule Like a Bosch, a bold Vietnamese reinterpretation of the global #LikeABosch platform. The campaign was bannered by a home-run manifesto: Run Your Home With Your Standards (#NhaNayPhaiCoBosch). Instead of traditional product advertising focusing on functions and features, the campaign introduced a copy-led, social-first creative style built around witty Vietnamese wordplay and confident declarations of household mastery. The idea came to life through a series of eye-catching virtual OOH executions designed specifically for digital sharing. These visually striking billboards blended the aesthetic of real-world advertising with the speed and humor of social media, creating content that felt interesting and highly shareable. Digital ads and social content featured punchy, authoritative lines celebrating the pride people take in running their homes and turning everyday household routines into statements of personal standards. Through Huy Trần’s charismatic storyline, the campaign turned everyday moments into relatable demonstrations of what it means to Rule Like a Bosch. The result was a campaign that felt native to Vietnamese social culture: witty, confident, and highly shareable.
CONNECTION PLAN
To translate Bosch’s narrative into cultural impact, we deployed a social-first, earned-led channel mix anchored on Facebook, TikTok, and PR — each playing a distinct role across reach, engagement, and credibility.Facebook served as the primary reach driver. With 94% penetration across age groups (Statista, 2025), it enabled Bosch to achieve immediate mass visibility among a broad, cross-generational audience. Brand-owned channels, alongside influencer and creator content, ensured consistent storytelling at scale.TikTok drove cultural relevance. With the household living category growing 247% YoY on TikTok Shop (Younet ECI), it provided the ideal environment to translate Bosch’s message into social-native behaviors and content.PR reinforced credibility. While social expanded reach, PR connected Bosch with existing users, grounding the campaign in authority through editorial storytelling — both humanizing the brand through Huy Trần’s family life and unpacking the campaign’s strategic thinking.Instead of traditional OOH, Bosch leveraged virtual OOH as a social-native alternative — transforming static visibility into participatory content and enabling community-driven amplification. The campaign unfolded in three phases across November–December 2025:Trigger (“Every Home Has a ‘Bosch’”) introduced the idea through teaser films and virtual OOH;Unveil reframed authority as care;Appreciate encouraged audiences to celebrate their home “Bosch.”Through Huy Trần’s fun and authoritative voice across 3 TVCs, 7 virtual OOH placements, over 100 digital ads and social content, and 50 PR articles, the campaign spoke to modern Vietnamese homeowners through a powerful emotional lens: joy and pride in homemaking. Moreover, 20 KOLs and KOCs selected through Vero’s proprietary influencer selection tool TrueVibe™ amplified the message, extending reach while reinforcing credibility within home and lifestyle conversations.
